"World Sinfonia" finds Al DiMeola on all acoustic guitars, mainly on duets with Dino Saluzzi on bandoneon, and showing his compositional breadth by using rhythms that combine Latin, African, Tango with Middle Eastern scales and jazz harmonies. DiMeola dedicated the album to his friend, Astor Piazzolla (Argentine tango revolutionary and bandoneon master), whose genius will forever inspire us. For guitarists, "Lustrine" features twelve minutes of blazing guitar, showing that DiMeola can tear up an acoustic as well as an electric. "World Sinfonia" features some of DiMeola's richest compositions and finest playing on record. ( Source : http://www.guitar9.com/worldsinfonia.html )
